Sooo…. even though I am Marlene Dillon Empowerment Specialist I am not always feeling empowered. I honestly became empowering for others as a result of NOT being empowered. I speak life into others because I had to speak life into myself. I know what it is to not hear those words, so I give it… both to myself and to others.
This post is not my typical find the blessings in the bullsh*t post. This is my “today was some bullsh*t” post. I started to not post it, because it’s not super positive and it’s really honest at a time I was really not doing well emotionally or any other kind of -ly. AND I find it valuable to be honest, whether good or bad. If for no other reason, it’s important to know that people can relate to your low places and that just because a person is putting out positive content doesn’t mean they don’t have low moments.
So this is raw. This is open. If you’re new to me, this is probably the opposite of what I usually post. AND I feel it has value. I have a general rule that I follow my gut (not my fear of embarrassment), so when I feel compelled to post, I post.
So here it is…

I recorded this yesterday morning. So much has happened since then that I cannot believe it was just yesterday. I actually just went on Facebook to double check that it was actually yesterday that I was so emotionally done that I posted “I can’t do this. I’m so tired. It’s gotta get better. I just can’t” because that’s exactly how I was feeling….
I got halfway through it yesterday, but just didn’t have it in me to finish editing it until today. So I’m posting it now.

Quick disclaimer/info in case you’re wondering. Although I was very upset and life is holding me down on the mat currently, I am not a danger to myself or anyone else. I am safe, just sad. It’s been a lot with no recovery time. And it really got to me yesterday. Since then I’ve rested a lot. Laughed when things were funny. (This video helped A LOT.) Listened to some great audiobooks. Slept with the window open. Cleaned a bit. And I’m a lot closer to neutral, which is progress. Things have not changed, but my emotional response to them has mellowed. So I’m grateful for that.
Anywho, thank you for being here. Thank you for your support of my work and my podcast.

And please know that ANY amount is helpful. I have never received a $5 gift and scoffed. I’m grateful because it means I have enough to buy eggs, to get an extra gallon of gas, to say “yes” if my child asks for a snack. It all matters and I’m appreciative. So thank you sooo much.
