Unapologetically Taking a Break

Some roles don’t come with mental health days. You’ve just gotta take ’em. Nobody is going to give you permission or even ask you if you need one. In some roles, they just expect you to keep going and going and going.

“If you need a break, take a break. It’s better to take one by choice than to have life sit you down.”

Press play to listen to today’s podcast. FYI I cuss so wait ’til the kids and elders aren’t around. Blessings!

Today, I said, “Eff that.” I locked my door and got back in bed. I need to recharge. I’ve been going and going and going on “E” for a really long time and today I just without thought or communication got in my bed.

I am huge proponent of communicating and I highly recommend that you don’t wait til you’re at the point of not being able to use words to go sit down somewhere. AND don’t let your role take you out. If you need a break, take a break.

Blessings,

  1. Wow, wow, wow. What a powerful episode. Caregivers can’t take a day off so I found your story of parenting soooo relatable. This spoke to me so much. Thank you for the permission to take a break!
